About

25 years, one trade at a time

25 years in the shopfitting industry, now running my own maintenance business across the Gold Coast — servicing real estate agencies, retirement villages, childcare centres and retail alike. I've built everything from playgrounds to tiny homes, while renovating houses all along the way, including years spent servicing some of Queensland's most high-end properties. On the childcare side I've got plenty of experience with fencing and gates, working alongside trade partners, and I can assist directly with centre assessments and ratings, general maintenance, assembly and asset upgrades.

Who I work with

Built around four kinds of client

Most of the work is business-to-business: people who need a job closed, documented and invoiced properly, not just done.

01

Real estate & property management

Qualified cabinet maker, servicing Gold Coast real estate agencies and property managers for several years, successfully clearing job lists, photographed and invoiced in a format an owner will approve without a phone call.

  • Wall patching, painting and cabinet repairs
  • Sliding door servicing, track repairs and new track overlays
  • Silicone sealing and wet-area re-caulking
  • Complete exit make-goods, from repairs to full cosmetic refreshes

02

Kindergartens & early learning

Former maintenance manager in the childcare industry, experienced getting centres ready for assessment and rating reviews. Blue Card active and fully insured.

  • Kitchen, fence and perimeter audits
  • Compliance assistance ahead of assessment and rating
  • Child-safe fixings, gates, latches and joinery
  • After-hours scheduling available on request

03

Retail & commercial shop maintenance

Twenty-five years in the shopfitting trade. Repairs and upkeep done to shopfitting standard, and the store trades the next morning.

  • Shop maintenance and damage repairs
  • Counters, displays, storage and joinery repairs
  • Post-handover fixes and callbacks
  • Night and early-morning work

04

Retirement villages & over-55s

Unit turnover refreshes, common-area repairs and in-unit jobs for residents, carried out patiently and tidily, and booked on weekdays around village routines.

  • Unit turnover and resale refreshes
  • Common-area and clubhouse repairs
  • Handrails, doors, screens and joinery
  • Small in-unit jobs for residents

The difference

Not a handyman who also does cabinets

A general handyman gets it working. A qualified cabinet maker with 25 years in the trade gets it right — square, aligned, fixed to structure, and finished to a standard you can photograph.

WHAT YOU USUALLY GET

  • Verbal quotes that move once work starts
  • Two or three trades for one job list
  • Tall furniture assembled and left unfixed
  • No photos, no paperwork, chase-up phone calls
  • Insurance details “in the mail”

WHAT INDESIGN DOES

  • Written scope, fixed price, terms up front
  • One qualified trade across most of the list
  • Anti-tip fixing on tall units wherever there’s a genuine tip risk
  • Before-and-after photos with every invoice
  • Certificate of currency before the first job
Services

How it works

Four steps, no chasing

01

Send the list

Phone, email or the form. Photos help. For agencies, forward the work order exactly as it came in.

02

Quote in writing

Site visit where it is needed, then a written quote with a fixed scope, inclusions, exclusions and terms.

03

Booked and done

Confirmed date, tidy site, tenants and staff dealt with politely, and the job finished in one attendance wherever possible.

04

Photos and invoice

Before-and-after photos and a clear invoice, so you can close the work order and the owner can approve it without a phone call.

Questions

The things people ask first

What areas do you cover?

The Gold Coast and surrounding areas, Coolangatta and the southern suburbs up through Burleigh, Robina, Surfers Paradise, Southport and Helensvale to Coomera and Ormeau, and west to Nerang, Mudgeeraba and the hinterland. Larger commercial and maintenance jobs can be quoted into Logan and northern New South Wales. See the full list of areas serviced.

What are your qualifications?

Qualified cabinet maker with 25 years across every stage of the shopfitting trade, covered for $20 million public liability, with an active Blue Card, First Aid and CPR. Currently completing the Kitchen, Bathroom & Laundry builder-restricted licence, due early next year.

Are you insured?

Yes. I’m covered for $20 million in public liability insurance, and a certificate of currency can be emailed to your office or uploaded to your contractor portal before the first job.

Do you hold a Blue Card?

Yes, required for working in education and care environments while children are present. Where the work suits it, InDesign will still schedule after hours to keep rooms in use.

How do you quote?

Site visit or photos first, then a written quote with a fixed scope, inclusions, exclusions and payment terms. No verbal ballparks that change later.

What are your payment terms?

A deposit secures the booking and materials, with the balance due on completion. Agency and commercial accounts can be set up on 14-day terms after the first job.

Can you handle a whole job list in one visit?

Usually, yes, that is the point. Send the list ahead of time so the right materials are on the van, and most agency job lists are cleared in a single attendance.
